The meeting lasted more than an hour. At it, Dzhemilev asked Erdogan to help achieve the lifting of the ban on entry into Crimea for members of the Majlis, and spoke about the desire of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to change the status of the peninsula in the new Constitution of Ukraine.
“The President of Turkey noted the strength of his position regarding the inviolability of the territorial integrity of Ukraine within the internationally recognized borders. He said that the Turkish authorities are taking measures to prevent Turkish ships from visiting Crimean ports. The President of the Republic of Turkey confirmed his readiness to support the initiative of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people to build a central mosque in Kyiv, which will mark the unity of Muslims in Ukraine,” the message says.
Let us recall that the other day, Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak reported that Turkey received hundreds of Ukrainian military personnel for treatment in Antalya.
