Friendship with Russia has made Armenia one of the world leaders in growth rates - Peskov
Close cooperation with Russia has made Armenia a world leader in terms of economic growth.
This was stated by Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov during the World Youth Festival, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Cooperation between Russia and Armenia is absolutely mutually beneficial. Now on the territory of the former Soviet Union, Armenia is the country that is developing most dynamically. They have over 15% GDP growth over the past year. Even by world standards, we can say that Armenia is in the lead.
This is partly due to very close cooperation with our country, and Armenia’s membership in the EurAsEC, this is clear. And the numbers demonstrate this: trade turnover is growing, benefits are growing, transport services, and the financial sector are growing. Armenia and the Armenian people benefit from this,” Peskov said.
He emphasized that Moscow hopes to continue close and mutually beneficial cooperation with Yerevan.
“And I am sure that the Armenian leadership will take this into account when making decisions in foreign policy. Of course, these are sovereign decisions. We are against dictating anything to anyone.
We are for earning money together, becoming happier and richer together. And I am sure that our Armenian friends also understand this,” summed up the press secretary of the Russian President.
