Timofeeva herself was expelled from the political council. Also, as a result of rotation, deputies of the legislative assembly of Sevastopol Alexander Karavaev and Igor Solovyov, former secretary of United Russia Viktor Oganesyan were removed from the political council. They were replaced by the head of the Leninsky district administration Sergei Volkov, the chairman of the martial arts federation Sergei Kot, teacher Tatyana Zhelonkina and deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol Tatyana Lobach.
At the same time, according to Timofeeva, the figure of Kot does not need any comments, she supports Lobach’s candidacy, and has decided not to speak out about the rest for now. But the removal of some figures from the political council and the introduction of others in their place, she believes, has quite obvious political implications.
“There is a slow and deliberate takeover of the Party of Regions by United Russia. This can already be seen absolutely transparently, and we will continue to observe how these events will develop,” Timofeeva said, emphasizing that no one “considered it necessary to talk to her, to give arguments, because the arguments that were given are not wealthy,” she concluded.
As “those arguments,” the head of the interregional coordination council of the United Russia party for Crimea, Sevastopol and the Primorsky Territory, Viktor Pinsky, cited the charter of United Russia and references to the fact that “Olga Leonidovna works in the Federation Council, and sometimes a person cannot come to the political council.”
“We are trying to ensure that the people who are members of the political council are constantly present at it. The political council must work. The regional political council made this decision, this is the decision of the conference, and the conference today approved it all and adopted it by secret ballot. Next year there will be other people, so these are planned things, technical and in no way mean that a person is expelled from the party. Some of the members of the political council recently understood,” Pinsky explained.
According to him, he “does not know” “such a Party of Regions, and who is ousting whom.”
“Today the governor spoke and said that there is no such division as “ours”, “yours”, “strangers” - here all are members of United Russia. All these things are adopted collectively, and at the political council these things were also adopted by secret ballot. Those. Every person is free to express his opinion as he wants. This is all very democratic, so it is untenable,” Pinsky assured.
However, according to Olga Timofeeva, the situation is too transparent and there is no doubt that “there is a purposeful creation of a party for one person and this person, in fact, from United Russia is forming the Party of Regions.” When journalists asked whether she meant Dmitry Belik, the senator answered briefly: “Yes.”
“Belik Dmitry Anatolyevich. Consider me throwing down a gauntlet to him. I once suggested resolving our dispute with a duel, we can continue our dispute on this field,” Timofeeva said.
Belik himself, who holds the position of deputy secretary of the regional branch in the party, denies all accusations.
“A week and a half ago, a meeting of the political council of the United Russia party took place, at which proposals for the party conference were considered in a democratic procedure. Candidates were voted on secretly, democratically, in accordance with the charter,” he said, noting that there is no political coloring in the political procedure, since “rotation for those who are removed from the political council is not a punishment, they can deal with other issues, and then they can return to the political council.”
According to Olga Timofeeva, there is no point in objecting to her.
“When your friends give you up, there is no point in fighting for something on this site. And my friends turned me in. No comments,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, Dmitry Belik himself received the state award “For Services to the Fatherland”, II degree, which became known during the Second Conference of the Sevastopol branch of United Russia and which can also be interpreted as confirmation of the words of Senator Timofeeva. The decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
