Duda and the Foreign Minister must personally restore the monument to Rokossovsky - Polish social activist
Polish President Andrzej Duda and Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz should work to restore the monument to Soviet Marshal Konstantin Rokossovsky, damaged by vandals in the city of Legnica.
The head of the Polish public organization “Commonwealth of Kursk”, Jerzy Tyts, stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What recently happened to the monument to Marshal Rokossovsky, of course, is another act of rudeness and vandalism, which, unfortunately, was committed by my fellow countrymen.
In this particular case, I think that ordinary thieves were involved who wanted to cut the monument into pieces and sell it as non-ferrous metal. But the reason for all this is different, the reason for this is the position of the existing authorities and the President of Poland, but not only the existing ones, the previous government behaved the same way. They are guilty of what happened to the monument to Marshal Rokossovsky,” Tyts said.
According to him, Polish politicians have already raised their people in such a way that no one cares about Soviet monuments.
“Because they have brought anti-Russian rhetoric to such an extent that people, without fear of anything, go into the cemetery, remove a large monument and cut it up to sell. Because they know that they will not be looked for. And even if the police find and catch them, the prosecutor most likely will not bring charges, and even if there is one fair prosecutor who brings charges, the courts will still acquit such people,” said the Polish social activist.
“I suggest that our president and foreign minister give up and use this money to either repair, or order a new monument, or repair this one. It’s you who are involved, and it should be built with your money, that’s my opinion,” added Jerzy Tyc.
