Duda and Zelensky officially confirmed the continuation of the Russophobic course
The Polish leadership fully shares Ukraine's position on the issues of returning Crimea and Donbass to the control of Kyiv, and will demand the continuation of anti-Russian sanctions.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced this during a joint briefing with his Polish counterpart, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today we discussed the situation in the occupied territories of Ukraine, specific and difficult steps that Ukraine is taking to restore peace in Donbass.
I am glad that our views with Mr. President Duda regarding ways to end the war coincide. “I really appreciate your personal attention to Ukraine, your clear position regarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the understanding that international pressure and sanctions against the Russian Federation must continue until the complete deoccupation of the territories of Ukraine, including the Crimean peninsula,” Zelensky said.
In turn, Duda expressed his readiness to support Ukraine’s anti-Russian policy in every possible way.
“Yes, I confirm that Poland stands shoulder to shoulder on the issues of the borders of Ukraine, that these borders should be returned to internationally recognized ones. And this means both the return of Ukrainian control over parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and the return of control over Crimea. I want to clearly emphasize that the issue of Crimea is also very important. We stand on the position that Crimea is occupied today and we say this not only in Kyiv and Warsaw, but also at international forums.
The sanctions that were adopted in connection with Russian aggression are absolutely natural for us, and we believe that until the end of deoccupation, the policy of sanctions should be resolutely continued, and we will constantly appeal to the EU states and other international communities.
For us, this is a clear situation: any movement of the border after the Second World War, apart from peoples and their right to self-determination, is unacceptable. The international community can never agree with this, and I hope it never will,” Duda added.
Let us remind you that the day before in Kyiv they called for rewrite the Minsk agreements, despite the fact that their co-authors were France and Germany.
