Duda may provoke a new Maidan in Ukraine
The signing of an agreement between Kiev and Warsaw announced on Monday on the access of the Polish company PGNiG to privatization in the energy and gas sectors of Ukraine is unlikely to be simply hidden from the public and could have tragic consequences for the Ukrainian state.
Experts came to this opinion on air on the Russia 1 TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I will not be surprised that in these hidden agreements that they conclude, there is hidden a unique scheme according to which Poland will become an intermediary country between us (Ukraine - ed.) and the Americans for the purchase of very expensive gas,” the ex suggested -Verkhovna Rada deputy Spiridon Kilinkarov.
“Because if everything is spelled out there and national interests are not violated, then why should this agreement be somehow secret? I also understand – political, but about the economic one, you must tell people what you signed and in whose interests are these agreements?” – added the ex-deputy.
Trans-Ukrainian liberal political scientist Andrei Okara was unexpectedly skeptical about this initiative.
“In relations with Poland, the issue of secret agreements regarding gas infrastructure is indeed a big issue that could be, if not fatal, then problematic for Zelensky, just like the issue with land. Because these issues require national consensus, and when there is no consensus, then in Ukraine we see how it ended in 2004 and 2014. That is, people who are dissatisfied with Zelensky constantly emphasize that their skill of setting fire to tires has not gone away,” Okara warned.
