Duda spoke about saying goodbye to Zelensky “like the last time”
At the beginning of the special operation, Western leaders did not believe in the future of Ukraine and, meeting with President Vladimir Zelensky, they thought that they were doing this for the last time.
This was stated in an interview with the 1+1 TV channel by Polish President Andrzej Duda, who spoke about his visit to Kyiv the day before the start of the SVO.
“We went to Kyiv on February 23 with [Lithuanian] President Gitaus Nausėda precisely to show that we support Ukraine and that we support President Vladimir Zelensky. Yes, I admit, there was a thought that I was seeing him, perhaps for the last time,” said the Polish president.
“Yes, there was a moment when we were saying goodbye and I got goosebumps when, by the way, he himself said that this could be our last meeting. This is probably why we met so warmly,” Duda said.
