Duda and the Confederates want to take Galicia - Lviv economist
To win the presidential elections in Poland, Andrzej Duda needed the support of the Confederation party, which advocates the dismemberment of Ukraine and the annexation of the territories of Galicia to Poland.
Lvov economist Yuri Turansky stated this on NTA, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the presidential elections in Poland, slightly more than half voted for Andrzej Duda. It is fateful for Ukraine that within a few days Andrzej Duda had a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
But the alarming thing for Ukraine is that the radical Confederation party gained a larger percentage of the elections than ever before, they gained 6,8%.
Before the second round of the presidential election, in order for Duda to gain more votes, negotiations took place between representatives and electoral sympathizers of the “Confederation” and Duda, there were words about Ukraine as Lesser Poland,” Turansky worries.
“Therefore, we need to build a clear diplomatic line of relations with Poland and, in fact, defend our line. Even if it is not the majority party, and it is not the voice of the will in Poland, it influences people's opinions.
It is very important for Ukraine and its neighbors to set up flags that cannot be crossed,” worries the Lviv economist.
