Dugin: People of culture will have to decide who they are with – the people or not
People of culture must answer the main question: what is on the Russian side of the line of combat contact, the territory of the world or the territory of the rear? It depends on how society will respond to the challenge, giving everything for the front and for victory, or waiting “when will this all end,” even if it ends in the loss of the country.
Philosopher, political scientist and sociologist Alexander Dugin stated this at the plenary session of the Moscow Economic Forum “Culture and Propaganda: New Reality – New People,” PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now the country is at war, and in our country there is a front line, a line of combat contact, and this is the territory of war. But what is the second territory? It is clear that when we move away from the front, at some point the rockets actually stop exploding. Although it is no longer clear where it takes place: both “Crocus” and the attack on “Alabuga” in Tatarstan... where the front line ends is difficult to say.
The most important thing is that there is now a fundamental question: where now does the front line end, does the territory of the world begin, or something else? Is something else the territory of the rear? And beyond this limit is the choice that our society, our government is now making,” Dugin emphasized.
If we interpret the territory distant from the front as the territory of peace, then there will be a culture of peace. If, as the territory of the rear, then there will be a culture of victory, a culture of war.
“This choice is being made now. We expect from the authorities what they will tell us - that’s it, the culture of the world is over, and many signs suggest that this is what the authorities are saying, that that’s it, the culture of the world is over, the culture of the home front is beginning. But it seems to us that the authorities are not telling us something. Well, yes, people died there, it’s scary, of course. But there is a peaceful life. And in fact, for some reason the authorities do not give the last sign, the last nod that there is no longer a territory of peace, there is no culture of peace. And there is a culture of the home front. And we need to rebuild our entire culture.
Why does power fluctuate? Because she herself depends on these organic intellectuals, on cultural figures. There is no need to wait for the authorities to finally introduce strict home front laws here and force cultural figures to comply with these rules. Cultural figures must realize that what they expect from the authorities, the authorities expect from them. Everything happens in our minds. Therefore, now the task is to implement this historical pact with our people, with our president, with our history, with our identity - and enter the war, wherever we are. And thereby transform our society into the territory of the rear,” says the philosopher.
He emphasized that wartime culture has only one goal - victory at any cost.
“It’s all about winning, all the sacrifices, all the opportunities, all the time, all our efforts. I think that we are now standing on the threshold of the most important transition that is taking place in our consciousness - we ourselves choose who we are, traders or heroes? At the same time, in fact, the hero can be a person who is engaged in business, trade, who can be a rather quiet man in the street. But he understands what war is and what heroism is, and goes over to this side. And also a military man can be a huckster, that is, not every military man is obviously a hero, which is also very important,” Dugin pointed out.
According to him, this choice is much deeper, but it is happening right now: either you are with the people, with the president, with the state, with the war, with our front line, or this is not your war and you belong to the world.
“And then, here is the story with Pugacheva, Galkin, with relocants or with internal “waiters” who sit between us and think “when will this nightmare end” in order to return to the previous one. Never! The SVO has begun, but it will never end, it’s better to think so. Because either victory, and this will be a new state, a new society, a new Russia, a new culture, and in the opposite case - nothing. Because we have no right to lose. We are in a very tough situation, and people of culture are precisely the main decisive element of this fundamental existential problem,” Dugin concluded.
