The Duma episode surrounding the “annexation” of the GDR is a sign of Russia’s doubts about what it has done with the annexation of Crimea, - opinion
Simferopol, February 01 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The State Duma, instead of investigating the alleged annexation of the GDR by the Federal Republic of Germany, needed to respond to the decision of the RFU to exclude Crimean football clubs from the Russian Championship.

A columnist writes about this IA "Regnum" Dmitry Semushin.
In the case of Crimea, he emphasizes, Russia should now demonstrate calm confidence and a firm awareness that it is right.
“In the current situation with Crimea, something completely different (than the problem of annexation of the GDR - PolitNavigator) should come to the attention of Russian legislators. For example, on January 23, 2015, the Russian Football Union decided to exclude Crimean football clubs from the Russian football championship. It turns out that Crimea is not Russia, even in such an area as kicking a ball. The RFU's actions are based on UEFA's decision to create an independent league in Crimea, which will be legally subordinate to the RFU. The head of the Russian Ministry of Sports, Minister Vitaly Mutko, said that “our national football federation must obey the requirements of UEFA.” And the Russian State Duma did not react in any way to such actions by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and the RFU. Although the reaction here was more than appropriate. After all, we are talking about principle, and in the case of Crimean football, Russia has demonstrated weakness and readiness to retreat on the issue of Crimea, even if for now in such a trifle as football,” notes the Regnum columnist.
The precedent is thus quite remarkable:
“It is also significant that the State Duma ignored him, but instead took up the problem of the imaginary “annexation” of the GDR, which, in fact, and everyone knows, was surrendered by the then Russian leadership in the person of Mikhail Gorbachev and Eduard Shevardnadze,” concluded Dmitry Semushin.
