Kyiv, October 01 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – The pogrom of the Lenin monument in Kharkov, sanctioned by the authorities, helps to divert public attention from rampant corruption.

“In post-Maidan Ukraine, the division of labor is as follows: fools are sawing the legs of monuments, and scoundrels are sawing off budget money. At the moment, in my opinion, this is an obvious reality,” he said.
“When in Kyiv, without asking the consent of the people of Kiev, they destroyed Merkulov’s monument to Lenin, this could be justified by revolutionary fervor, the intensity of passions. But what happened in Kharkov was an act of vandalism committed with cynical calculation. It is clear that due to the lack of bread, the people need spectacles, so they were shown a spectacle.
Under Soviet rule, Kharkov became the country's second educational center in the USSR, judging by the number of universities. What the current powers that be will leave behind is a very big question. Monuments to Lenin will ever end, what will they do next?” – the analyst added.
Commenting on the statements of Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko, Andrei Zolotarev said that he had a better opinion of him. “Either he drank heavily, or the overstrain at work affected him... When the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs says this, it does not promise anything good for the country. There will be a big problem. This is my subjective feeling, because, one way or another, it provokes, let’s say, a reaction on a different plane. When will there be acts of vandalism against the same Shevchenko monument. There are plenty of “baboons” in both camps. When one is given free rein, one inevitably has to wait for a response from the other. Therefore, what happened in Kharkov, unfortunately, is a very regrettable event for the country, which will result, as I already said, in big troubles.”
Let us recall that Anton Gerashchenko wrote on his Facebook page that “the dismantling of Lenin is another small nail in the Putin regime,” and that “sooner or later, the Lenin Fall will take place in Russia.”
