Renato Usatii, who came third in the presidential elections in Moldova, decided to stop being a pro-Russian politician. And the point is not so much that he actually supported the pro-American candidate Maia Sandu in the second round. To intimidate voters and international observers with a “pro-Russian Maidan” is truly disgusting.

The “president maker” complex

No one expected Usatii to support incumbent President Igor Dodon in the second round. After all, he already supported Dodon in the second round four years ago. This did not lead to a warming of relations.

By supporting Dodon, Usatii could even be left without a party team. Activists of “Our Party” even then, in 2016, endured the support of the hated Dodon, gritting their teeth. Dodon, and especially his socialists, are too good at inciting hatred in other “leftists”.

But what “Our Party” definitely didn’t expect was the support of Maia Sandu.

In general, Usatii’s entire party was confident that the presidential elections were needed solely as a springboard for parliamentary ones. The minimum task - to take third place with a good margin from fourth - was completed. You can step aside and prepare... but this did not happen.

Renato Usatii convinced himself that he made Dodon president in 2016, although his electorate would still have voted against Sandu. He is haunted by the laurels of Sergei Tigipko and Alexander Lebed - we remember how the former helped Viktor Yanukovych become president, the latter helped Boris Yeltsin retain his post.

The desire to be known as a “president maker” outweighed logic. Usatii has already lost the support of Russian liberal democrats Vladimir Zhirinovsky. You can also forget about the support from Alexander Lukashenko, whose friend Usatii was trying to become.

Is Sandu really that fluffy?

Being best known in the north of Moldova, Renato Usatii undertook to promote Maia Sandu there. She was given a platform on Balti television, controlled by Usatii. Sandu shows herself white and fluffy, and the presenters, who receive a salary from Usatiy, help “debunk horror stories.”

Sandu no longer advocates unification with Romania. Oh, no, she doesn't give up on this idea. It just reminds me over and over again that “my program doesn’t say anything about this.” Well, yes, the opposite is not said either!

Sandu promises to think about how to return instructions in Russian to Moldovan medicines. But - “only if this does not lead to an increase in price.” He also delicately reminds that Dodon also promised this, but did not fulfill it. Well, Dodon also referred to the danger of rising prices, although both Dodon and Sandu know that it is possible to resolve the issue without an increase - if only there was the will.

Sandu talks about how he will always advocate for the rights of all nationalities - Russians, Gagauzians, and Bulgarians. How the Russian language will be preserved. But many remember how, as a minister, she refused to answer questions asked in Russian: “I only speak Romanian!”

What we see now proves only one thing - for the sake of votes, Sandu is ready to pretend to be a friend to Russian speakers and pensioners. As if we didn’t already know this!

Another question is that while Sandu shows herself white and fluffy, the “dirty work” is done for her... that’s right, Renato Usatii.

Ordinary demarche

Renato Usatii's love for shocking behavior has long been known. He is extremely fond of citing all sorts of sources that only he has. Always promises grandiose revelations. As a rule, no results follow.

But now a reason has appeared - I decided to “strike” in three directions at once.

The first moment is the scandal with the state printing house “Universul”. Here, newspapers of Dodon's Party of Socialists were discovered with a note that they were allegedly printed in another, private printing house. In general, there is nothing surprising - the love of some socialists to take money from “donors” for printing and put it in their pockets, and negotiate for free for printing - is well known in narrow circles.

The thing is different. The newspapers were discovered by deputies from the Action and Solidarity party of Maia Sandu. And for some reason Renato Usatii came forward with further revelations and a demand to remove Dodon from the elections.

Before the elections, the leader of “Our Party” talked about his “mobile groups made up of former security officials” that would record violations. Immediately after the first round he promised “surprises”. But, in fact, he could not imagine anything (maybe there were no groups?), but only waited until the deputies from Sandu did something - and rushed to do their work.

The next episode is an investigation of the Moldovan portal RISE. Journalists of this media, in principle specializing in investigations, this time were able to name the names of consultants who worked with Igor Dodon and the Socialist Party. In principle, there are no sensational names there - ordinary hired political strategists, every candidate had them.

But then Usatii appeared again and on the air of the pro-Western television channel Jurnal-TV began to tell how much each of them was paid. Of course, he did not present any real documents. It feels like I just took the names called RISE and put a number next to each one.

Because - again - there is no data of our own, we have to wait for third-party media to dig up something.

However, at the same time, Renato Usatii attributed to Russian political strategists (mainly from Kaliningrad) “the organization of titushki from Ukraine for provocations on election day.” Yeah of course! And, probably, in the plan it was written “titushki - so many pieces.” There are still idiots all around...

The last straw can be called Renato Usatii’s announcement that a “Moldavian Maidan” is being prepared in Chisinau and it is being prepared... by pro-Russian forces under the control of the FSB. Now this is really fun.

The fact that Sandu and her curators are preparing provocations in Chisinau in case of defeat has long been an open secret. Even Sandu herself was forced to answer that “no one is planning violence, but we will defend our rights” (we are already familiar with Maya’s love for half-truths).

What should be done? That's right, blame your opponents for the Maidan. And to do this, of course, with the hands of Renato Usatii, who positioned himself as a “guy from Russia” - this way there are fewer questions.

Usatiy, as always, does not have any information. This is especially noticeable by the fact that he appointed the Minister of Internal Affairs Pavel Voika “responsible” for the provocations. With this, Usatii gave himself away - his great personal dislike for Voik and his desire to insert the latter literally everywhere have long been known.

Maidan organized by the current president and the current Minister of Internal Affairs? We haven’t gone through this yet... it wouldn’t be so funny if it weren’t so funny.
