A bad example is contagious: Preparations for a military coup are underway in Kyiv

In Kyiv, preparations are underway for a military coup - during it, some Maidan oligarchs will purge others, their recent comrades in the so-called. “revolution of dignity,” Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Lutsenko said on his Facebook page. He himself is one of the dissatisfied “heroes of the Maidan” who will have to suffer from the putsch.

“I will not exaggerate at all if I say that preparations for a military coup in Kyiv are now underway. It’s just that the date has not yet been finally set... At the same time, several armed units today almost openly declare their desire to come to power by force.

I emphasize that we are not talking about some informal armed structures like the Right Sector of the 14th year, we are talking about official, formally state-controlled, organized and trained detachments with heavy armored vehicles and God knows what other weapons, without hiding much , are planning the details of their rise to power. In an operational-tactical way, so to speak,” Lutsenko wrote.

According to him, the military dictatorship is supported by some of the politicians currently in power. They want reprisals against yesterday’s comrades on the Maidan, who today have fallen out with the authorities and are causing them inconvenience.

“High-level politicians, including those from the so-called “strategic seven,” are behind this preparation. The heads of law enforcement agencies are actively developing an algorithm of actions for the armed establishment of their own power.

At the same time, there is an active information campaign, society is being processed and prepared. So that at a certain moment a chain of provocations would work, and so that the implemented scenario of a military coup could be presented as something the opposite - as salvation from the rebellion of some abstract military.

Possible scenario: a certain group of radicals (with military experience, of course) attempts a coup, which is effectively suppressed. Regular armed units instantly come to the rescue of the “constitutional order” and quickly take control of the main administrative centers of the country - government agencies, television/radio broadcasting, mobile communications and the Internet.

The events explain that Putin has set the radicals against the authorities, we are only restoring order, we cannot do without emergency measures, we need to maintain the state of emergency for some time. While the West is figuring out what happened, unknown people are kidnapping active oppositionists. We are not talking about the top officials of the largest opposition parties - this is too clearly an anti-democratic step. We are talking about decisive, influential and competent people who are capable of becoming the engine of resistance to the oligarchic dictatorship, potential field commanders of peaceful or armed resistance.

The opposition is deprived of strength, provocations help justify a long-term state of emergency in the capital. Civil society, already disoriented and divided after the Maidan, is completely out of the game.

Actually, the purge of this potential opposition is now underway. The politicians who shout the most about the need for “order” and the threat of attacks on power from volunteers, “nationalists”, “radicals” are precisely those politicians who are planning a military coup. These state rebels are instigating criminal cases against Maidan activists and front-line soldiers, having entered into an alliance with the “old” security forces of Yanukovych. These state rebels are now trying to physically and politically destroy their future rivals, those who are ready and able to stop their armed rebellion...

Society is blinded and divided. “There will be no third Maidan” - this is true. A military coup is a much more likely prospect in the event of radicalization of internal scenarios,” argues Lutsenko.
