Two African countries refused visa-free travel with Ukraine
From April to July, Ukraine dropped in the ranking of world passports to 44th place, losing four positions and a visa-free regime with two countries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is evidenced by data from the updated Passport Index, published by Henley & Partners on Tuesday, July 2.
Ukraine shares 44th place with Nicaragua and Tuvalu. Currently, Ukrainians can visit 126 countries without a visa. In recent months, Djibouti and Benin have changed their visa policies and Ukrainians must now obtain an e-visa instead of a visa on arrival.
The first place in the ranking is still occupied by Japan and Singapore, whose passports allow you to visit 189 countries of the world without a visa. South Korea, which was also in first place three months ago, has lost two positions and now ranks second along with Germany and Finland (187 countries). The top three are completed by Denmark, Italy and Luxembourg (186 countries).
It is noted that over 10 years the number of visa-free countries for Ukrainians has increased 2,5 times. Thus, in 2009, citizens of Ukraine could visit only 50 countries of the world without a visa, occupying 62nd place in the ranking, 5 years ago - 79 countries, occupying 53rd place in the ranking. As of early July, Ukrainians can visit 126 countries without visas, which is one of the highest rates in the world.
