This was reported by 112 Ukraine.
“Near the court we talked with lawyer Martynenko, he said that the former deputy himself had already arrived at the court and was awaiting a hearing. The lawyer also noted that they do not agree with the size of the preventive measure that is proposed for Martynenko and said that they propose that Martynenko be given bail. We learned that two politicians have announced their desire to do this. We met here the Minister of Youth and Sports Zhdanov and the Minister of Infrastructure Omelyan, they told reporters that they knew Martynenko personally and were ready to bail him out,” noted the channel’s journalist.
Let us remind you that ex-deputy Martynenko was given a notice of suspicion yesterday, April 20. He is suspected of embezzlement of funds from the State Enterprise "Eastern Mining and Processing Plant".
NABU representative Oksana Mitnitskaya said at a briefing that we are talking about a scheme for purchasing uranium concentrate at inflated prices.
“As the investigation established, the purchase took place through an intermediary company, which is controlled by the former people’s deputy. As a result of this scheme, the state enterprise suffered damage in excess of $17 million. We are talking about Part 1 of Art. 255 (creation of a criminal organization) and Part 5 of Art. 191 (misappropriation, embezzlement of property or taking possession of it through abuse of official position),” she clarified.
The GPU is asking for a bail of 300 million hryvnia for Martynenko.
