“Putin’s double blow” – referendums and mobilization became a strong political stress for the West
The new reality that will arise after the reunification of Donbass and former Ukrainian territories with Russia is a definite feature and the creation of a new springboard for further advancement in Ukraine.
Advisor to the deceased head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, political strategist Alexander Kazakov, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I called the story with referendums and partial mobilization “Putin: a double blow.” Since practically - this is at the same time, but this small gap between the proposal to hold a referendum in the territories with Putin’s speech with a friendly attitude towards the referendum and partial mobilization, several articles managed to appear in this gap, in Ukraine and in Europe. Referendums have been announced: that’s it, Putin has leaked everything. This means that he will now seize these territories and announce the end. That’s it, goals are forgotten, tasks set are not solved – that’s all. And then the next day there was partial mobilization. And the same authors somehow write that no, he did not change his mind. Exactly the opposite.
In the end, I agree with them on this, with our opponents, in their version. Putin really dealt a heavy political blow with referendums. Because I have spoken about this many times, specialists and analysts know this well, that the logic of a politician and the logic of a military man are different logics.
In military logic there is no concept of losing territory or gaining territory. He doesn't think in terms of territories. The military man thinks about victory. About overcoming enemy resistance. But the politician thinks precisely in terms of territory. Where politics loses territory - this is a disaster, this is a political disaster. But to acquire it is the opposite,” Kazakov noted.
According to him, a completely new political and geopolitical reality is emerging. Ukrainian troops will continue to resist, but in the territories that held a referendum, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will actually have the status of interventionists.
“In the logic of the military, who look at the course of events from that side, it turns out that Russia made a certain cutoff during the Northern Military District. This is what we did, this is what we carried out. This is if there is a hidden meaning. We established a bridgehead. We’ll saturate it with defensive lines, although I don’t think we’ll get carried away with defense, because our military officers have been saying for about a week and a half now, here and there, that the columns are coming.
That is, while our convoys are mobilized in training centers, they are moving. That is, operational reserves are coming in. And the enemy is talking about a powerful group that is amassing in the former Kherson region of Ukraine.
In fact, of course, Vladimir Vladimirovich never utters words in vain. For eight years they poured everything possible on our heads. And then, oops, he just opened it today. In 2014, Vladimir Vladimirovich did not talk about Novorossiya. That is, he opened it, this project.
Therefore, I am, of course, optimistic about the near future, while fully understanding that the resistance now, at least in the near future, will not weaken at all. And there will be attempts to even launch counterattacks. They have already announced even two of them, in the Zaporozhye region and in the DPR, this will all happen.
It turns out that after Vladimir Vladimirovich’s speech and the signing of the act on the acceptance of these territories into Russia, we find ourselves in a new geopolitical, political, and military reality. And the main sign of this reality is that in the depths, I emphasize, in the depths of our territory there is an enemy army, interventionists conducting military operations and killing Russian citizens. Inside, in the depths from the Russian city of Slavyansk, to the Russian city of Dzerzhinsk, according to them Toretsk. This is a new reality,” explained the political strategist.
