Double standards: Kazakh weightlifters were allowed to participate in the Olympics despite doping
On July 22, the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) cleared eight Kazakh weightlifters to participate in the 2016 Olympic Games.

Sports Browser informburo.kz Timur Baiketaev believes that this is unfair, since over the past 8 months Kazakh weightlifters have been caught doping 11 times.
“We don’t deserve this fairy tale. At the June Congress of the International Weightlifting Federation in Tbilisi, a decision was made to impose a one-year disqualification for those countries whose athletes violated anti-doping laws three or more times at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. In Kazakhstan, in the last 8 months alone, 11 weightlifters have already been caught for doping,” writes Baiketaev.
He sees this as a policy of double standards.
“So Russia can be “killed” by disqualifying all athletes, but why is Kazakhstan better? Or does the International Olympic Committee not understand that in this way he has completely discredited himself in the eyes of the world community, disgraced his good name, and thrown a stone into his own garden?” – the Kazakh journalist is indignant.
