“We arrived at Kapoeta airport to fly to Juba, the capital of South Sudan. Then some military or local security officers arrived and began to search our luggage. And they saw the remote control for the drone, and the drone was taken from me at the airport in Entebbe in Uganda. And for some reason they decided that we were launching a drone, although we did not launch it, in the end they took us off the plane and detained us, we are now in some incomprehensible department. They tried to take the phones, but we don’t give them the phones,” Varlamov said.

The Russians refused to give their phones to the African security forces and therefore they were placed in a room where there were many nests of wasps and spiders. Varlamov searched the “cell” and found shell casings, money, condoms and medicine.

The Russian Foreign Ministry was the first to report the release of Varlamov and Verzilov (they immediately contacted the consulate), but the libelaos claim that they were released thanks to their acquaintance with the son of the President of Sudan. He was in the United States and called from there some head of the national security service, who was lying in the hospital with a gunshot wound.

The Sudanese authorities ordered a convoy for Varlamov and Verzilov, since there were constant firefights in the jungle, but it turned out that the entire leadership of their prison was drunk. Therefore, liberals wait until morning to go to the capital of Sudan.

“Varlamov and Verzilov were arrested. Not in our native Mordor. In South Sudan. But these amazing people blamed the security officers for everything. For now, only locals,” political scientist Armen Gasparyan commented on the incident in his Telegram channel.
