The transfer of power in Belarus has begun, but the question remains where it will be directed, under whose control it will go, and how actively Alexander Lukashenko will participate in it.

Political expert Dmitry Dzhangirov told the PolitWera YouTube channel about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Constitutional reform is inevitable and, as far as I understand from the EU’s comments, they agree to this option,” the expert said. – Most likely, the compromise will be that the elections will be proportional. Without a majority vote. And the question is whether the opposition will be able to consolidate, and whether the government will be able to march in two or three columns – conventionally “pro-government”, “pro-Russian”, “industrial”.

Why are multiple batches needed? In order for various pro-government groups to see themselves in the future joint-stock company. That is, we followed the path of Belarus CJSC. Such a transition is the lesser of two evils.”

At the same time, when asked by the presenter whether the Kremlin will be able to come to an agreement with the opposition if it does take power, Dzhangirov replied that it will be able to, but not with all of it. And here, in his opinion, everything depends on what external forces this or that opposition group is oriented towards.

“He won’t be able to (reach an agreement with the pro-Polish – ed.), but he can with the pro-German ones,” the expert noted.

When he was given as an example a statement by a representative of the Belarusian media, expressed on air on a Russian channel, that the President of Belarus “cannot be pro-Russian, he can only be pro-Belarusian,” the political scientist very clearly remarked:

“In Ukraine, at one time, the figure of speech “we are not pro-Russian, and not pro-Western” clearly meant “we are pro-Western,” Dzhangirov recalled.
