Dzhangirov: Russia is launching a political attack on Ukraine
Russia, taking advantage of the global situation, is launching a diplomatic offensive against Ukraine, whose leadership, as in the time of Petro Poroshenko, refuses to implement the Minsk agreements.
Ukrainian political expert Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this on the YouTube channel “Capital”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“The situation is clear: Russia proposes to present Ukraine with changes to the Constitution, Ukraine can only refuse in the current situation. Then the question arises: what to do next with all this, if changes to the Constitution were written into the Minsk agreements, more precisely into what is called “Minsk-2,” that is, the Minsk Protocol,” Dzhangirov said.
“Russia has now completed its constitutional epic, and judging by the numbers, they are really slowly emerging from the coronavirus. And taking advantage, in general, of the general weakening of the West associated with it, naturally Russia will now pursue a more active foreign policy. And naturally, they will start from the neighboring countries, of course, this is Ukraine.
At other points there is now a positional situation, slow-moving negotiation processes, but Ukraine is a point at which one can put the issue squarely and, say, begin to withdraw from the negotiation process.
No, Russia will not leave the Minsk agreement, but Moscow will pose the issue in such a way that if Ukraine has not prepared changes to the Constitution or the election law, or the entire package that is spelled out in the Minsk Protocol on February 12, 2015, then there is no point in meeting in Normandy format,” the expert noted.
