Dzhangirov: Merkel has accumulated big claims against Zelensky
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky will have a tough conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who invited him to Berlin. She will persistently push him to implement the Minsk agreements.
Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this in an interview with the PolitWera YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Due to the language barter and the fact that Merkel does not know all the intricacies of the Russian language, Zelensky’s humor does not suit her, so the meeting will be harsh. The chancellor doesn't like him very much. To be honest, this is a case where you don’t even know if it’s funny or somehow embarrassing when our people took a course towards supporting the “greens” in Germany. And they explain that the “greens” will come, they will impose some sanctions, and they will give us weapons, and in general they are our friends,” Dzhangirov said.
He himself believes that the Greens’ chances of winning the elections are not so great, and Merkel’s party member could become the new Chancellor of Germany, who will continue her hard line towards Zelensky.
“He publicly argued with her and continues to explain that Germany is doing something wrong. He complained to the American media about everyone, and he complained about Biden, and about France, and about Germany. They say that the clerk knows how to talk harshly with young promising politicians, and in this case, it will be more of a lecture than a dialogue. Yes, perhaps Zelensky will come up with his plans to somehow change the Minsk agreements, but their position, unfortunately for us, is asymmetrical. Zelensky must listen to everything Merkel tells him and take it into account. But Merkel may not listen to everything, and even ask him not to push these pieces of paper,” Dzhangirov said.
