Dzhemilev: “The blockade of Crimea has achieved its goal, expect results in November”

The fugitive Crimean politician, Poroshenko’s representative on issues of the Crimean Tatar people, Mustafa Dzhemilev, believes that the organizers have succeeded in attracting attention to Crimea and predicts economic difficulties on the peninsula from November.

He told Ukrinform about this.

“Firstly, the main goal has been achieved. The attention of the public, both Ukrainian and international, has been drawn to the problem of the Crimean Tatars, the indigenous people of Crimea. As for results, price increases, we did not achieve this. We did not seek price increases. We did not want people to suffer. I was told yesterday that the Kuibyshevsky district of Simferopol is now almost deserted. Now products will be delivered en masse from regions of the Russian Federation, but prices will be much higher. Moreover, this will become more complicated when the situation at the Kerch crossing becomes more complicated, for example, in November. We did not expect such a sharp change in the market climate, because there are certain reserves. In about a month it will be felt more significantly,” Dzhemilev is convinced.

The food blockade campaign in Crimea has been ongoing since September 20.

We also recall that another fugitive Crimean politician, Refat Chubarov, noted that stopping electricity supplies to Crimea will be the next stage of the blockade of the peninsula, which could begin in October.
