The politician stated this in an interview with Ukrinform while in the United States.
“I do not share this point of view, at least at this stage. But they made such a statement, they must be understood, because these are the problems of 300 thousand people that need to be solved somehow. A statement was made that for a certain period of time they were sending their people - one person as deputy prime minister, another as the head of the committee for the affairs of nationalities and deported citizens. But at the same time, they stated that this in no way means that the Majlis recognizes the current status of Crimea, that is, it remains occupied. Although I personally think that there would be no need to do this, I understand the difficulties these people face,” says Mustafa Dzhemilev.
“To say 100% that this is correct and that is not is very difficult. For example, it’s easy for me to say when I live in Kyiv and have a salary, but what is it like for my compatriots there? They live in an occupation regime, and it is unknown what will happen if no protective measures are taken. Therefore, I am not particularly going to condemn them,” the deputy emphasized.
