Dzhemilev was going to organize a rally in Simferopol
If the Mejlis members manage to break into Simferopol following the results of the “march to Crimea” announced for May 3, they will organize a rally in the capital of the republic and talk about the “illegality of the presence of Russian troops.”
Mustafa Dzhemilev, a Verkhovna Rada deputy and former chairman of the Mejlis banned in the Russian Federation, stated this on air on the Oboz Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, the extremist emphasized that this is an unlikely option and, most likely, everything will end with the border being closed and some of the rally participants being arrested.
“If they let you through, this is the best option, then we go home. It will be obvious from the location - maybe we’ll come to Simferopol, organize a rally there, and then go home. Well, then we begin, of course, to actively work on the territory, using democratic rights, including those proclaimed by the Russian Federation, to talk about the illegality of the presence of Russian troops on our territory.
But this is, so to speak, ideal. This, of course, will not happen. Most likely, probably, this is the option - they let some through, then they choose who to arrest, who is released, and others are spat out back. This option may be. But maybe it’s the same thing that happened when I tried to cross the border on May 3, 14 - they just completely block the border with their armored personnel carriers, tanks and don’t let anyone through. And we want our guests to see this whole picture,” Dzhemilev said.
Previously deputy head of the Mejlis banned in the Russian Federation Akhtem Chiygoz stated that those who will participate in the so-called “march to Crimea,” which the Mejlis, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation, announced for May 3, must be ready to “give their lives.”
Before this Mejlis formed a training headquarters and holding a “march” to Crimea and scheduled it (for May 3. Experts said that the Mejlisotsve’s plans to break through the border with Crimea threaten to turn into a bloody provocation.
