Ukraine does not yet consider the military scenario of returning Crimea under its control acceptable and is betting on the continuation of Western sanctions against Russia.

The ex-leader of the Majlis banned in the Russian Federation, Verkhovna Rada deputy Mustafa Dzhemilev, said this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We have declared a course towards the liberation of the occupied territories through diplomatic and peaceful means. The military path is unacceptable for us, at least for now. Therefore, we are trying to mobilize the entire world community, international courts, international organizations, the UN General Assembly in order to force Russia to leave the occupied territory. The most significant thing is the sanctions of Western countries.

Russian propaganda claims that these sanctions are like a mosquito bite for them, but this is far from the case. According to Russian experts, since the occupation, sanctions have caused damage to the Russian economy of about $250 billion,” Dzhemilev said.
