Dzhemilev was not allowed to contact the Kurultai, - Kiev newspaper
Simferopol, April 01 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The radical change in the political course of the Majlis from a hard pro-Ukrainian to a barely disguised pro-Russian one was caused, among other things, by the absence of people’s deputy Mustafa Dzhemilev at the last session of the Kurultai.

Communication with the informal leader of the Crimean Tatars was essentially blocked.
The Kiev newspaper Den writes about this.
“The kurultai clearly lacked the thoughts of Mustafa Dzhemilev, the recognized moral leader of the people. As they say on the sidelines of the kurultai, Mustafa Bey, sensing something was wrong, tried to call key delegates from America, but failed to get in touch, and the Majlis’s promise to contact him via Skype and listen to his vision was not fulfilled,” the publication reports.
The publication notes that the single decision of the Majlis (on the delegation of Crimean Tatars to the Russian Crimean government - Navigator) does not yet indicate a complete change of course, however, many are confident that since the Majlis has already succumbed to pressure from outside, it may show weakness in the future .
“I have never in my life been so ashamed of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people! There’s just nowhere to put your eyes!” the newspaper quotes one of the Crimean Tatar activists.
For the first time in 23 years, The Day emphasizes, only one anthem of the Crimean Tatars was sung at the Kurultai - without the traditionally preceding “Ukraine Is Not Yet Dead.”
