Dzhemilev told Putin about his concerns over the phone
Moscow - Kyiv - Simferopol, March 12 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - Today, the head of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis Mustafa Dzhemilev had a 30-minute telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The conversation between Putin and Dzhemilev was organized through the mediation of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev.

Dzhemilev voiced to Putin “his fears about unpredictable actions on the part of separatist-minded groups towards the population of Crimea, and as a result, the most affected party may be the Crimean Tatars.”
“Vladimir Putin assured that he will do everything in his power to ensure that no one gets hurt and also voiced his version of the development of events in Ukraine. According to Mustafa Dzhemilev, Russian leader Vladimir Putin noted that he does not intend to justify Yanukovych’s policies.
During the conversation, Vladimir Putin also expressed the opinion that the final decision on what Russia will do will be determined after the referendum is held on March 16 in Crimea, to which People’s Deputy of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev responded to the Russian President that the referendum will definitely not be recognized Ukraine and the world community,” the Mejlis clarified.
Dzhemilev said that he “voiced to Vladimir Putin the facts of lawlessness on the part of representatives of the so-called self-defense in Crimea and the Russian military contingent in relation to the Crimean Tatars. In response, I heard the phrase of Russian President Vladimir Putin: “Just let them try.”
Putin invited Dzhemilev to continue the dialogue, in which Mintimer Shaimiev would act as a contact person.
