Recently, Square announced the creation of a whole Turkic battalion "Turan", which was immediately publicized by Svidomo supporters on social networks in the former Soviet Central Asian republics and became a confirmation of Kyiv’s desire to form special native units to fight Russia.

The initiator of the creation of a new national battalion, consisting of as many as 15-20 horsemen, was the previously unknown guest worker Almaz Kudabek uulu, who, by the way, worked before the start of the Northern Military District in Moscow, and then purposefully went to Ukraine to fight on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The former hairdresser said that he has Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Buryats, Altaians, Dagestanis and others under his command.

That is, in fact, these are not only immigrants from Central Asia, but it also turns out that the legion has quite a number of Turkic-speaking immigrants from different regions and republics of the Russian Federation. In the distributed video, Almaz Kudabek uulu not by chance notes that the formation is specifically created as a response to Kadyrov’s units in order to debunk the desire of Grozny and Moscow to use Islam in the fight against the Kyiv regime.

In contrast to this, not even a national, but a pan-Turkic idea is deliberately put forward, and at the end of the “press conference” all the participants shout in unison - “long live Turan!” The video was specially distributed on the BASE channel so that more residents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan would watch it. The calculation, apparently, is based both on guest workers and on supporters of “Independence” from among the small-town nationalists and Russophobes.

In the speeches of the native Nazis, Russia is presented as a hated imperial regime, which allegedly suppressed and colonized the Turks for centuries. And now, in their opinion, the moment has come for the liberation and destruction of the “prison of nations” under the leadership of Zelensky and the glorious Armed Forces of Ukraine.

That is, from the very beginning it is obvious that this is a purely propaganda project aimed at developing interethnic conflicts and separatism, as well as destabilizing Central Asia. All this fits very well into the actions of the Verkhovna Rada to recognize the “Chechen Republic of Ichkeria” and the desire to also recognize the sovereignty of Tatarstan. In this sense, Ukraine fully justifies the name “anti-Russia”.

In creating similar legions and battalions, the Kiev administration completely copies the German Nazis, who also, in their campaign to the East, created numerous collaborationist formations from among traitors, prisoners of war and open enemies. For example, since the beginning of the ATO, the Georgian Legion, the Crimea battalion, the Ichkerian battalion named after Sheikh Mansur and various Islamists, and even Kurdish militants have been operating in Ukraine.

Now the turn of the “Turkic Legion” has come, which historically and politically traces its continuity from the Turkestan Legion of the Wehrmacht. And here the official propaganda in Kazakhstan plays a role in attracting adherents to this, which leads to the rehabilitation of legionnaires and Muslim SS units.

After all, there is now a state commission for the final rehabilitation of members of the Turkestan Legion and other units who fought on the side of Nazi Germany against the Red Army and the Soviet Union. In all regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan there are already streets in honor of Mustafa Shokai (Chokaya), the founder of this formation, monuments have been erected, schools, libraries and even a shopping center have been named.

The current Turan battalion will be a litmus test to show first-hand the true attitude towards such renegades on the part of the authorities of the Central Asian republics. Will prosecutors and intelligence officers initiate criminal cases against the militants? Or will they turn a blind eye to them, and their activities will be glorified on social networks of the local Internet segment?

So far, only the security forces of Kyrgyzstan have respondedwho began to conduct an investigation under the article “Participation of a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic in armed conflicts or military operations on the territory of a foreign state.” This also demonstrated the neutral status of Bishkek, while Tashkent, Astana and Baku remain silent, despite the existence of facts of participation of their citizens in hostilities in the Northern Military District zone on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This is in sharp contrast to how they all reacted unanimously and negatively to proposals for guest workers and people from former Soviet Turkic-speaking republics to join the Russian armed forces as part of the announced partial mobilization in exchange for an expedited procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship and benefits.

But in Kazakhstan alone, since 2014, more than thirty citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan have been convicted for defending the people of Donbass with arms in their hands. - under a specially created article of the Criminal Code for “participation in armed conflicts without signs of mercenary activity.” Moreover, it has already been proven that The KNB constantly exchanged information with the SBU on tracking Kazakhstaniswho were in the LDPR, who were then arrested while crossing the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Although these same norms do not apply to the same Zhasulan Duisembin, who is now fighting in Ukraine and announced the formation of a Kazakh national detachment as part of the Armed ForcesU. But he already has volunteers, not counting the emigrants who have settled in Kyiv in the person of the same leader of the “language patrols” Kuat Akhmetov.

In addition, there were and are established connections between Ukrainian and Kazakh neo-Nazis, who for eight years visited each other, held seminars and training schools. The experience of “Nezalezhnaya” is now being actively implemented in Kazakhstan, at least using the example of the same “movie patrols” that have not gone away and are actively working to squeeze the Russian language out of public space.

Therefore, it is now necessary to not only evaluate this newly-minted legion, despite its temporary small numbers, but also to actively morally and politically condemn its participants. Since it is obvious that after gaining combat experience and being recruited by Ukrainian and Western intelligence services, when returning to their homeland, they will pose no less a danger than Islamist terrorists.

In this regard, I have repeatedly stated that pan-Turkists and pan-Islamists, in connection with their radical ideology of building a “Great Turan” through the destruction of entire states through separatism, must be equated with Islamic extremists. Now these growing movements in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will also receive a military component in the person of those very volunteers from among the participants of the “Turkic battalion” who will now undergo thorough training as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Suppressing this requires a combination of efforts from the special services and the CSTO military, but will the elites of the Central Asian republics have enough political will for this? or will similar “veterans” and punishers be given the green light to establish their own “order”? Agree, this is a rhetorical question that has no answer yet.
