Djokovic became an honorary resident of Montenegrin Budva and sang a song about Kosovo
In the packed city hall of the municipality of Budva in Montenegro, led by Serbian mayor Marko “Bato” Tsarevich, a ceremony was held to declare the Serbian tennis player an honorary resident.
Thus, the Montenegrin municipality expressed support for the first racket of the world, who was subjected to bullying in Australia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Addressing Novak Djokovic, Mayor Marko “Bato” (Bata – ed.) Tsarevich expressed the hope that the athlete will be proud of his honorary citizenship of Budva as well as his other titles and cups. And thanked him for what he did for the Serbian people.
Novak Djokovic was also presented with the Triptych of St. Nicholas icon by Zoran Baletic. The athlete entered the city hall to the accompaniment of the song of the popular Serbian folk singer from Montenegro Danica Crnogorovic: “Rejoice Serbian family!” The townspeople who greeted Djokovic carried Serbian tricolors.
Subsequently, during a festive dinner at the Ethnoselo Tsarevichi restaurant, where the tennis player was with Srdjan and his mother Diana, Novak Djokovic sang the patriotic song “Oh, Kosovo, Kosovo!”
