“We are not talking about months, we are talking about a possible period of a month – due to more adequate preparation for what needs to be done and where we must participate ourselves,” Djukanovic commented on the withdrawal of the vote of no confidence by his nationalist Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), what happened in the Assembly of Montenegro on December 13 of this year. - Some of the parties involved in this political agreement have requested a short additional time - we are not talking about months, we are talking about a possible period of one month - to more adequately prepare for what needs to be done and where they should participate.

Of course, the matter is so important that we have not asked ourselves whether we should agree to this postponement and whether we should ensure a change of executive power during January."

In turn, Djukanovic praised himself, saying that for thirty years he had legitimately won elections and was at the forefront of policies that brought independence to Montenegro, brought the country into NATO and preserved multi-ethnic harmony. At the same time, now Montenegro, in his opinion, is in “a deep and complex crisis, which is both political and economic, as well as medical and institutional” and “this situation needs to be changed.” At the same time, according to the Montenegrin president, the DPS agreed to support those “structures that want change,” and early parliamentary elections would suit his party best.

Djukanovic also commented on the fact that the Department of Cadastre and State Property registered the Cetinje Monastery as the property of the Montenegrin-Litovian Metropolis of the SOC.

According to the dictator, this was “an attempt to usurp the cultural, historical and sacred heritage of Montenegro with a clear political goal - to Serbianize Montenegro in order to show that Montenegro does not have its own state, its own cultural, national and religious identity.”
