"United Russia" in the State Duma attacked the Ministry of Economic Development
The Russian Ministry of Economic Development has not calculated the economic effects of the second wave of coronavirus.
United Russia deputy Vladimir Gutenev stated this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A number of indicators for 2021-23 raise doubts about their realism. As an example, we can cite the expectation of an increase in investment in fixed capital by 2-3 times compared to 2019, especially taking into account the decline last year. In addition, the forecast does not take into account the negative processes in the global economy that took place before the pandemic.
In this regard, we believe that forecast expectations for a quick recovery in global economic growth have not been confirmed. In a number of cases, there are serious inaccuracies in the forecasts of the ruble exchange rate against major currencies, which has a significant impact on the planning of other economic indicators. The faction notes that one of the reasons for the shortcomings of forecasting is the lack of strategic planning documents,” Gutenev said.
The United Russia faction considers it necessary in 2021 to finalize the long-term forecast of the socio-economic development of Russia for the period until 2036.
“The ministry should shape the future, and not focus on interpreting statistical results,” Gutenev emphasized.
United Russia also proposes to extend tax holidays for entrepreneurs and a moratorium on scheduled inspections, develop self-employment, control price increases, subsidize mortgage loans, and reduce costs for investors.
At the same time, a proposal was unexpectedly made to introduce a new tax on research and development work (R&D).
