Political considerations hinder the effectiveness of attacks on Ukrainian energy – Vasiliev
Strikes against Ukrainian energy facilities are not so effective, since the networks themselves have a colossal reserve. Also, our calculations do not affect transformer substations and power lines connected to nuclear energy facilities.
Blogger, author of the telegram channel “Russian Engineer” Alexey Vasiliev said this on the air of “First Sevastopol”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In fact, the efficiency is not as high as we would like. The fact is that Ukraine’s energy sector was designed for 52 million people and an incredibly powerful industry. Now, God willing, only 30 percent of that industry remains, and instead of 50 million people, there are only about 20 and a few kopecks living.
That is, they have a huge power reserve, and, accordingly, throughout all power generation networks. And, most importantly, we are limited in terms of striking nuclear stations, because even transformers and distribution stations, lines that are located next to them, have many negative aspects - nuclear hysteria will begin and so on. And just one nuclear generation in Ukraine is enough to provide for all consumers at the present time,” he explained.
According to the expert, the disadvantage of nuclear generation is that it does not allow flexible response under load, it is poorly regulated. This requires maneuverability. Actually, these capacities are precisely hydroelectric power stations, which is why they have now been hit. That is, they do not provide the opportunity to maneuver within a single energy system.
“Plus they covered most of the transformers. Again, they have quite powerful air defense, and not all 100% of the missiles reach, so it is necessary to arrange an outfit of forces taking this into account.
Basically, we deliver serious blows that limit power. But these powers require a very high consumption of cruise missiles. And they are not endless for us anyway.
We are waiting, we are currently working on missiles with an enlarged warhead, which will allow them to be stopped more effectively in one flight: not just a damaged casing, but so that the device will already be displaced from these foundations and other things,” Vasiliev clarified.
He added that the priority is six 750 kV substation stations, the highest voltage ones.
Russia will have to launch many more missiles at Ukraine
“But the fact is that while they are working to maintain nuclear facilities, for some reason they are not touched. Apparently, there are some other diplomatic issues. Although I have a suspicion that tomorrow, as they say, they will fly in, after what happened in Moscow now,” the expert summed up.
