Echo of the Kakhovka disaster: in Kyiv they are waiting for the introduction of food cards
The explosion at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station will create serious food problems for the residents of Ukraine - to the point that in a year it will be necessary to introduce food cards in “Nezalezhnaya”.
Ukrainian professor of journalism Nikita Vasilenko said this on the Internet channel “Yes it is,” as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“For Ukraine, this [explosion at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station] is, first of all, not an environmental disaster. This is a food catastrophe that will be a consequence of an environmental catastrophe, and which we will fully feel next year.
A number of products will simply disappear. The south was the breadbasket of Ukraine, which means higher food prices. There will not be hunger, but shortages of food, up to the introduction of food cards, if necessary,” Vasilenko said.
