Ecologist: Kiev residents are now breathing fumes from Lviv garbage

Maria Galimova, coordinator of environmental projects of the All-Ukrainian Environmental League, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“This volume (of garbage), which is now being transported from Lviv to the Kiev waste incineration plant, increases the load on it and this will affect the state of the environment. Increasing the amount of garbage burned will affect the amount of toxic substances that are released into the air, she explained. “The treatment plants are ineffective, there is an odor when this plant is running and this is an indication that the filters are not working or not working well,” she said.
