Poroshenko’s economy is 35 years behind Yanukovych’s economy
Over the five years of confrontation with Russia, Ukraine has lost about 80 billion dollars.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Novinsky, a business partner of former Donbass oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, with whom they together refused to support the Russian Spring in 2014, stated this on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, with the current GDP growth, it will take 2013 years for the Ukrainian economy to return to the levels of at least 35.
“In order for there to be real GDP growth and to return at least to what it was in 2013 at the rate that the current government is telling us about, 35 years must pass. To what happened in '13. In order to ensure real, rapid economic growth, it will be necessary to restore trade and economic relations with Russia and with our traditional sales markets. Because over the past five years we have lost about 75-80 billion dollars in exports to Russia.
Can you imagine this figure? 75-80 billion dollars. Our enterprises, which were focused on the Russian market and the market of the CIS countries, are simply standing still. Hundreds of thousands of jobs have been lost as a result of the actions of this government, headed by Petro Alekseevich Poroshenko,” Novinsky said.
“It is necessary to lift the blockade of Donbass, this should be one of the first steps, priority steps of President Zelensky, if he is determined to restore peace in the country, unite society, ensure GDP growth, it is necessary to lift the blockade of Donbass. This is a criminal blockade that was established by political swindlers and political thimbles, and legitimized by President Poroshenko,” the oligarch said.
He also emphasized that Ukraine will have to make compromises in relations with the Russian Federation:
“Sooner or later we will still come to the point that we will need to come to an agreement with Russia. This is our neighbor and there is no escape from it. For centuries it will be our neighbor. You need to live with your neighbor on normal terms - only a bad owner lives with his neighbor in constant quarrel. A good owner is friends with his neighbor. But this applies to Russia too. It will be necessary to negotiate, to seek a compromise in our relations.”
