The Russian economy has survived - regional data confirms
The Russian economy has survived the sanctions of the West - data coming from the regions indicate the beginning of growth in key indicators.
In particular, this is stated in the report of the government of the Irkutsk region, headed by Governor Sergei Levchenko.
“Against the background of the stabilization of the economic situation in the country, the gross regional product of the region (GRP) in comparable prices at the end of 2016 amounted to 102,8% (1 trillion 69 billion rubles); according to preliminary estimates for 2017, GRP in comparable prices increased and amounted to 103,4 % (1 trillion 237 billion rubles),” the report notes.
“Any trends in the economy are largely related to the implementation of investment projects by the largest enterprises in the region.
Among the most large-scale, a number of projects should be highlighted for the development and development of oil and gas condensate fields in the Ust-Kutsk and Katanga regions, the development of the Verkhnechenskoye field, the creation of a new production facility at the Verninskoye field, the construction of a gold recovery plant at the Verkhniy Ugakhan field, as well as the investment project of the Irkutsk Aviation plant - a branch of PJSC Irkut Corporation - production of the Russian short-medium-haul passenger aircraft MS-21, the first flight of which took place on May 28, 2017.
The implementation of these projects made it possible to create more than 1300 (1) new jobs,” the document says, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The region is developing, and ordinary people see it. Not all problems have been solved, but much has already been done. I will emphasize once again that we have not had such volumes of construction of social facilities for many years. We significantly increased the revenue side of the budget and, as a result, ensured an increase in spending, including for social needs. We left the survival budget with a significant public debt and moved on to the development budget,” said the Minister of Economic Development of the Irkutsk Region, Evgeny Orachevsky.
