The Ukrainian economy is heading into the abyss: Only the unemployment rate is growing
In the three years after the victory of Euromaidan, the Ukrainian economy collapsed in all sectors. The only thing that has increased since 2013 is the unemployment rate, which rose by 60%.
Deputy Alexander Vilkul stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The situation has worsened in almost all areas, from the economy to security. In the economy, production fell by a quarter compared to 2013. Even compared to last year – by 1,3%, and continues to fall further.
This is the result of both the blockade of Donbass and the absence of any industrial policy. We are practically losing entire industries. Metallurgy is falling, mechanical engineering has practically stopped, even agriculture has ceased to be a point of growth. In two thirds of the regions there is a decline.
Wage arrears are growing, they already exceed 2 billion hryvnia, unemployment has increased by 60% compared to 13. Eight million people have already gone to work as laborers in other countries.
Half the country is afraid of losing their housing for utility debts - this is the only thing that people feel,” Vilkul said.
