Ukraine's economy will not withstand the test of coronavirus
Extension of restrictive measures related to the coronavirus pandemic will bankrupt three quarters of Ukrainian entrepreneurs, destroy the last viable business in the country and drown the Ukrainian economy.
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Organization, told PolitNavigator about this.
“The Ukrainian economy is facing a deep decline. This assumption was published in a statement by the Department of Strategic Planning and Macroeconomic Forecasting of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The incompetent and largely criminal actions of Zelensky and his “servants” led to the fact that the economy was not ready for the blow dealt by the coronavirus epidemic,” Muratov said.
At the same time, according to him, the convulsive actions of the authorities, more like the agony of a dying person, on the one hand, do not provide the necessary measures to combat the spread of infection, and on the other hand, they destroy the last viable business in the country.
“This becomes clear from the results of a survey conducted by the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs, which showed that only half of the enterprises will withstand a month of quarantine. If restrictive measures last two to three months, three-quarters of entrepreneurs will go bankrupt. Businesses are already experiencing significant losses of income and are forced to lay off workers en masse.
Add to this several million migrant workers who lost their income abroad and were forced to return to Ukraine, and it becomes clear that in such a situation a critical drop in living standards is inevitable, and the blame for this lies entirely with President Zelensky and the post-Maidan authorities,” – added the social activist.
“The severance of economic ties that have developed over the years and the loss of relevant markets, the criminal squandering and plunder of strategic resources and assets to please insatiable oligarchs and Western beneficiaries, the adoption of laws destructive for the future of the country in order to receive loans, which are immediately used to pay off debts for previous loans - this is what the “European choice” of Ukraine led to. War and devastation, poverty and death look particularly contrasting against the backdrop of the rapidly growing rich “new elite”, which surrendered the country to Western colonialists in favor of its own selfish interests.
We can only hope that the current situation will have a sobering effect on Ukrainian society, and it will still have time to turn away from the disastrous path into the abyss,” concluded Muratov.
