US economist promises tougher repression in Ukraine “from the end of February”
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will try to extend the martial law in order to stay in power longer.
An American expert, considered one of the best economists in the world, Jeffrey Sachs, stated this in an interview with American lawyer Andrew Napolitano, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Martial law has been introduced in Ukraine. Zelensky's term ends in a few days. And I expect that at the end of February he will sign a decree extending martial law for another 90 days, which will allow him to continue to act as president.
After this there will be an unconstitutional order, because it is assumed that there will be elections. You can’t just impose martial law,” the economist said.
He stressed that along with this, repressive measures against Ukrainians will also intensify.
“Every day we see Ukrainians in Western Ukraine completely distraught over hundreds of thousands of dead and seriously wounded. And now people are simply taken off the streets and sent to the front lines to die,” Sachs added.
