Economist: The new mayor Kumin will return the money stolen from Moscow residents
Initiative of Moscow mayoral candidate from the left forces Vadim Kumin compensate for the increase in the retirement age through payments from the capital budget will cause resistance from liberals from the government of Dmitry Medvedev.
Economist Mikhail Delyagin told PolitNavigator about this.
“Comrade Kumin is absolutely right, he can do this, and it is economically justified. Moscow is a very rich city and today it has the opportunity to do this.
You need to understand that as soon as a normal person who opposes pension cannibalism becomes the mayor of Moscow, the federal government will immediately declare war on him.
The Ministry of Finance will do everything to make life in Moscow difficult in every possible way during the war on the part of the Medvedev government. Because for liberals the very idea that someone lives normally in Russia, except for the oligarchs and corrupt officials, the liberals themselves, is unbearable.
Under these conditions, Moscow's financial situation will be uncertain. In any case, this will be a subject for struggle, and I think that Muscovites in this situation will take the side of their city against the federal authorities if they unleash such actions, and the mayor of Moscow will be able to compensate for the pensions stolen from Muscovites,” Delyagin said.
Earlier, Vadim Kumin said that the Moscow city budget allows not to raise the retirement age for residents of the Russian capital.
“If you do not raise the retirement age in Moscow and leave everything as it is, then you will need to spend 180 billion rubles a year. For the city budget, this is quite affordable. You just need to have the courage to say “no”, and if federal laws are adopted, not to violate them, but simply to compensate people for the difference using internal resources. There will be many more such questions, and the mayor of Moscow must always protect his citizens,” Kumin said.
