Economist: Ukraine is becoming colonially dependent on the West for pennies
The Ukrainian government is strengthening its colonial dependence on the West by signing an agreement with it to sell the country for pennies.
Economic expert Sergei Salivon stated this on the Internet channel “Capital”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
Thus, Salivon emphasized that in order to receive the next loan tranche from the IMF, Ukraine will have to privatize large state-owned banks, corporatize Energoatom, and transfer the supervisory boards of state corporations and the country’s judicial system to Western control.
“In my opinion, it is obvious that these obligations are aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s colonial dependence on the West. The transfer of control now over all state-owned companies, the judicial system, and so on will finally turn the power in Kyiv into a sham, at least in its international status. And already in the internal significance it will be much less. In exchange, all this is done for an absolutely cheap loan. And what stands out is the authorities’ commitment to completely abandon regulation of tariffs for gas and electricity, and, therefore, for all utilities by the end of spring,” the economist said.
“If this condition is met, gas at the current price level in Europe will rise in price by at least four times, heat by three to three and a half times, electricity by two and a half to three times and other utilities by two times... The main thing is that the colonial status is consolidated at the institutional level and practically irreversible. And all this costs the West mere pennies,” said Salivon.
