The economist is outraged by Ze-gang's lies
Vladimir Zelensky’s team irresponsibly made promises about improving life for teachers, doctors and doctors, knowing that the 2020 budget did not provide for such an opportunity.
Vice-President of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine Anatoly Peshko stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“These 200-odd million hryvnias that they want to allocate for medicine... In all civilized countries, 6% to 10% of the budget is allocated for medicine. Ukraine’s budget today is about $38 billion, but it should have been, as was expected in 2013, about $120 billion.
Accordingly, we would have to allocate about 10-12 billion dollars for medicine. This would be 150-170 billion UAH. This is the minimum that should be allocated for medicine. This does not take into account the fact that over the years medicine has actually been destroyed, purposefully.
Therefore, I think that all the talk that they will invest a lot of money in the development of the social sphere does not correspond to reality - there are no funds themselves.
“I don’t know how they are going to raise teachers’ salaries, I don’t know how they are going to increase doctors’ salaries, I don’t know how they are going to finance healthcare and education,” the expert said.
