Ex-CIA analyst: The threat of a Russian attack on the EU is dangerous propaganda and the same “Powell test tube”
It is not a fact that the Russians are going to capture all of Ukraine, let alone attack the Baltic states or Poland.
Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern stated this on the “Dialogue Works” channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This Russian threat is made up, it’s synthetic. The Russian threat to attack the rest of Europe after Ukraine is the same as the threat of weapons of mass destruction before the Iraq War. Most people know that there were no weapons of mass destruction. And there is no evidence that the Russians want to take over all of Ukraine, let alone go further into Poland or the Baltic states.
At first glance, this seems stupid, but it is worrying because most people buy into it. That’s what they see in the mainstream press – and Russiagate and everything else plays right into that,” he said.
“You have a devil with horns called Putin, he is as bad as Hitler or even Satan himself, and when you are conditioned to believe in such things, as some of my highly educated friends are - so conditioned to do so, you will say: do what must, Mr. President. And this is really stupid and dangerous,” McGovern warned.
