Ex-SBU official confirms threat of unrest in Kyiv
On “Independence Day of Ukraine,” Petro Poroshenko plans to join the actions of nationalists who refused Vladimir Zelensky’s proposal to cancel the traditional military parade and will hold a procession in the center of Kyiv on August 24.
The demonstration could turn into unrest and the seizure of the government quarter by radicals dissatisfied with Zelensky, ex-SBU press secretary Stanislav Rechinsky warns in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Certain forces are preparing for this “parade” very seriously, using “useful idiots” like Levus (Verkhovna Rada deputy, ex-Euromaidan militant Andrei Levus, - ed.), as well as ex-representatives of the Ukrainian special services, like the ex-chief of the SBU DZND Daniil Dotsenko,” writes Rechinsky.
He assures that Russia intends to take advantage of the unrest - Moscow, allegedly, is counting on strengthening the position of Viktor Medvedchuk.
“There are several ranked targets. From organizing fights with the police and the National Guard to seizing the government quarter and starting a kind of “pseudo-Maidan”. But the main task is to show that the new government is weak, incompetent, incompetent and its actions can lead to anarchy and civil war. And lead the average person to the idea that the only “anti-crisis manager” (not for the first time, by the way) can only be the famous “peacemaker” and “humanist”, as well as Putin’s godfather – Viktor Medvedchuk. The plan is simple and has already been tested by Kuchma. But, given the scale of the attack, it is very dangerous,” the former SBU official shares his concerns.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier on Ukrainian TV it was stated that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is in danger: on August 24, he could be overthrown by the military, who will gather for an alternative parade.
