Former State Duma deputy Ponomarev calls on Ukraine to “forget about the West and the IMF”
The West’s demand for the implementation of the Minsk agreements is a real threat to Ukraine; Kyiv needs to stop cooperation with the IMF. Ilya Ponomarev, the only deputy of the State Duma of the previous convocation, who voted against the reunification of Russia with Crimea, after which he ended up in the USA, and now in Ukraine, stated this on the air of “UkrLife”.

“The implementation of the Minsk agreements is a disaster for Ukraine, complete internal destabilization and, most likely, as a result, a change of power, and not in a favorable direction. In my opinion, we need to completely forget about the West and the Minsk agreements, and focus on our own economy,” Ponomarev said.
He also called for stopping focusing on the instructions of the IMF.
“I know for sure that our country began to develop economically the day after we kicked out these international advisers. After that everything moved forward. And while they were dictating what we should do, everything just fell apart,” Ponomarev said.
