The ex-deputy of the Polish Sejm fears that Ukraine will never see the Patriot air defense system
American politicians and military experts are seriously alarmed that if modern anti-aircraft missile systems are transferred to Ukraine, Russia will recognize them as participants in the conflict.
Deputy of the Polish Sejm of the II and III convocations Miroslav Cech said this on air on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Unfortunately, politicians intervened and started their game. We will transmit, we will be safe. Then, unfortunately, some politicians and military experts said the following phrase: “You know what, as we convey, then Russia will be able to hit us, hit us. Let's do it this way. If the Americans want to transfer these planes to Ukraine, then we will move them to the airfield in Ramstein, and let the Americans transfer them to Ukraine.”
When such a phrase was heard, it meant one thing - that, unfortunately, Ukraine would not receive these planes, because the Americans would not hand them over, then Putin would say: America entered the war, then ballistic missiles and so on,” the politician said.
“There would be no nuclear war. But in America a discussion begins: “How? Are we under threat, will it fall on us?”, and there will be a radical change in public opinion. This support that is now available in Western Ukraine would have been shaken then. It is obvious.
I’m also afraid of the Patriot debate. These “Patriots” should stand on the territory of Ukraine, be an element of the defense of Ukraine. The less we talk about this publicly, the better. Let the military negotiate,” Cech said.
