Ex-member of the Rada: Zelensky is ready to do anything for a meeting with Putin
Over the past few years, both Ukraine and the West have become significantly weakened and divided, which has allowed Moscow to change its rhetoric and begin to put forward tough ultimatums.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Briginets stated this on the Nash TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We went through five years of war without harsh ultimatums. Because there was quite a strong consolidation in Ukraine and in the world - both in the middle of society and around Ukraine, and Putin did not dare to openly blackmail the whole world.
But with the arrival of Zelensky, the coalition began to fall apart, and our country is in chaos. And therefore you can use it,” he worries.
However, according to Briginets, due to its actions, Ukraine will soon lose the support of the West and will be left alone with Russia.
“On the one hand, Putin puts forward a demand for NATO not to accept Ukraine and cancel the prospects for Ukraine. His logic can be understood. But in parallel, Zelensky also issues an ultimatum to NATO - saysthat next year Ukraine should be admitted to NATO.
In fact, it turns out that both sides, Putin and Zelensky, are beginning to put forward demands on NATO. But the Alliance will most likely do everything possible to send both one and the other.
It seems to me that they want this, we will again be left alone with the Russian Federation. Do you think this is not what Zelensky needs to sit down at the table of direct negotiations with Putin? I think this is exactly what is needed,” says the ex-deputy.
