Ilya Ponomarev, a former State Duma deputy who fled to Kyiv from criminal prosecution, stated this on air on the UkrLife channel.
According to him, at the same time, Ukraine itself has undertaken to implement these agreements, which contain clauses that are unacceptable to it.
“It’s very hard to see here inside the country, you convince yourself that “we are fulfilling the Minsk agreements,” but from the outside the view is completely different. The Minsk agreements include special status, elections, and much more. No matter how you interpret this, it still all comes down to one thing - any action under the Minsk agreement must take place with the LPR/DPR. Any action in the Minsk agreements means recognition of the DPR/LPR as subjects. Therefore, Ukraine will never implement the Minsk agreements in the form in which they are written,” Ponomarev said.
