Ex-football player Dmitry Bulykin defended the right to participate in elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the Rodina list
The CEC's decision to refuse to register him as a candidate for deputy was declared illegal.
Legendary forward Dmitry Bulykin is running as a deputy for elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the Rodina political party. However, last week the Central Election Commission refused to register him.
A trial began on this matter, as a result of which the football player’s lawyers managed to prove the illegality of the CEC’s actions.
“I am glad that the Supreme Court made a fair decision. And I thank the Rodina party, which defended my constitutional right to be a candidate on the federal list. I really hope that they will no longer interfere with my colleagues’ wheels. Although, I wouldn't be surprised by this. A large number of people support us. And many people may not like this,” Dmitry Bulykin spoke about the results of the meeting.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Rodina party, State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev noted that after the court decision, the parties separated without conflicts. The party has no complaints against the Central Election Commission. Because its members followed their internal instructions.
“It is very important that justice and legality have triumphed! The legendary football player and public figure, our comrade-in-arms Dmitry Bulykin will fight for the interests of millions of voters of the Rodina party!” the deputy concluded.
The footballer’s next plans are to break into the electoral process with the “100 Cities” program. In August, he will visit several regions, meet with large families, raise environmental problems and the topic of developing mass children's sports.
