Former head of the DPR MGB: Information about recruitment in Crimea and Donbass must be taken seriously
Media information about massive attempts to recruit residents of both Crimea and Donbass by the Security Service of Ukraine should be taken seriously. This was stated to PolitNavigator by the former head of the DPR MGB Andrei Pinchuk, now one of the leaders of the Union of Donbass Volunteers.
He recalled that Ukraine has not officially declared war on Russia, but its security forces are acting according to the logic of military confrontation with the Russian Federation.

“We do not admit that Ukraine is our enemy - Ukraine, for purely political reasons, does not officially declare war on Russia, but at the level of internal rhetoric it is in an almost official war with Russia.
Accordingly, the intelligence services have a certain set of tools of war. Recruitment work is a tool, and any person who is attracted to cooperation by the SBU must understand that from that moment on he becomes a participant in hostilities against the Russian Federation.
This is not just collecting information, carrying out some local assignments. What methods are used in this case - terrorist, assistance to carry out other assignments, to collect information, something else, it depends on individual circumstances. But such activity is a way of waging war.
Of course, the SBU can achieve certain goals using such methods; if people are recruited to move and install explosive devices, then these are quite effective consequences. From the point of view of collecting information, it’s the same. Therefore, the problem here cannot be underestimated,” Pinchuk said.
